Gift of Hope
About Campaignends 28 Feb 2017, 11:59 PM
This holiday season, add NCCS to your year-end giving list! Giving a gift to the Community Cancer Fund is giving a GIFT OF HOPE to our patients in need.
Your gift will allow the Community Cancer Fund to optimise patient care through patient welfare, public education programmes and patient support group activities including:
I. Helping patients who are challenged even with the essential resources and support to facilitate best possible care at home while receiving cancer treatments. For example, needy patients who require mobility assistance often default on treatments and follow up sessions due to the inability to afford costly taxi/ambulance fares.
II. HeARTS - Healing Arts, a group art therapy programme that helps young children and teens whose parents have pass away from cancer, to express profound feeling of grief through Art Therapy. Through therapy, they could help convey their inner and difficult emotions and allow medical social workers to explore and discuss issues bring forth by the loss of the parent.
III. Cancer Genetics Service that enable high risk patients who meet eligibility for genetic testing so that they could be better informed about their future care and /or preventive measures for themselves and their family members. As up to 30% of all cancers are caused by inherited gene mutations, there is a pressing need to devise better methods of cancer detection, prevention and treatment.
Make your Gift of Hope today!
As the cancer centre for the community, the NCCS provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary and holistic cancer care, and sees close to 130,000 patient visits each year. We partner our patients in their cancer journey towards better and longer survival, instil hope of regaining good health, and pave the way for a cancer cure. Cancer is the number 1 killer in Singapore, accounting for more than 1 in 4 deaths. You can do your bit for the community by joining us in the fight against cancer - giving cancer patients a chance to higher quality of treatment and care. Please note that in the event that the donations made for a specific purpose has no new applicable project to support after a 2-year waiting period, the Community Cancer Fund Board of Trustees reserves the right to channel these donations to the Fund's general pool in support of its charitable objectives.
