About Campaign

Singapore is a low-lying island nation that, despite its economic success and political influence, is not spared from needing to consider many environmental challenges and concerns.

This campaign provides funding to Conservation International Conservation Trust Singapore (CSCT) to collaborate with Singapore stakeholders in public, private and academic sectors to address knowledge gaps, build capacity, inform national climate policies/strategies, and deliver innovative solutions.

Nature-based solutions are a key factor to Singapore's planning of our climate change defences and managing our carbon footprint, food security and water resources. There is strong evidence to suggest that environmental well-being has direct impact on human well-being while investments in understanding nature's role can secure Singapore's future as a sustainable society, encouraging Singaporeans to build a resilient nation home and safe future in which citizens can thrive despite the uncertainty and challenges that may lie ahead.

CSCT is supporting the scientific innovation and private sector involvement in nature-based solutions to the climate crisis. We seek to identify and design sustainable solutions to complex environmental problems thus fostering economic development through solutions that are good for business, good for people and good for nature.

About the Charity

PEOPLE NEED NATURE TO THRIVE - and for over 30 years, Conservation International (CI) has worked to protect it through cutting-edge science, innovative policy and partnerships. As an environmental nonprofit organisation working to build a healthier and more prosperous planet, CI has supported 1,200 land, marine and coastal protected areas and interventions across 77 countries.

In Singapore, CI Singapore strives to provide solutions that protect the local biodiversity, natural ecosystems and heritage of all Singaporeans through our key areas of work including community engagement, environmental education and partnerships.

Our Environmental Education Program takes the local to global approach, where youth learn about conservation science and sustainability in an urban environment while connecting with Singapore's natural heritage. The knowledge and skills imparted through school talks and outdoor education programs help shape behaviours and empower youths to consider their impact on the environment.

We work closely with local universities to provide opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students to take up paid internships or carry out field research and conservation activities with Conservation International across the Asia Pacific region

Conservation International Singapore Conservation Trust (CSCT) is an organisation approved by the Commissioner of Charities bearing Institution of Public Character (IPC) status.
