How Your Donation Makes a Difference
You're our SPECIAL ALL-NIGHT TEXTER! With your help, we can continue to bring theatrical experiences in Late-Night Texting to audiences and pay our artists for their effort!
Thank you thank you! This helps us provide welfare for the 25 volunteers who are helping us run the event :)
About Campaignends 01 Sep 2017, 11:59 PM
This year, Centre 42 is bringing this event back with twice the texting, wanting to involve more young artists and reach a wider crowd. Of course, that means more resources needed to ensure quality of the works presented, and adequate remuneration for the artists' works, while making the event free and accessible to all.
Your donation will help us defray operational costs to run this event, and give us the confidence to stage this platform next!
About the Charity
Centre 42 is small - small team, small spaces, small works. But if 2020 has shown us anything, it's that the smallest things can have the largest impact. From a small blue house on Waterloo Street, we have grown to be home to more than 170 artists and theatre collectives, supported the development of over 200 new theatrical projects, and brought theatre magic to more than 40,000 audiences.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO CONTINUE GROWING THE THEATRE SCENE.
This year, we returned 42 Waterloo Street, our home since 2014. We've not only lost spaces for our artists and programmes, but also an important source of rental income. With the arts sector adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, many arts-workers and companies are trying our best to survive financially. We hope to continue in the small ways we can, to offer avenues of creation, documentation and training workshops and presentations that will sustain the livelihoods and spirits of our art-making community.
Centre 42 is a non-profit theatre development space committed to the creation, documentation and promotion of text-based works for the Singapore stage. Our mission is to:
- nurture talent and incubate content of text-based works for the stage;
- build public awareness and appreciation for Singapore theatre; and
- be a focal point for research, documentation and critical discourse on the development of Singapore theatre.
