About Campaign
ends 24 May 2021, 11:59 PMCommunity Cats - CWS has been funding the sterilisation of approximately 4000 cats each year. We continue to assist community caregivers with the sterilisation of cats in residential, commercial and industrial areas. This is an on-going programme.
Pet Cats - We have been helping low-income families sterilise their pet cats. Without such assistance, the cat population within the house quickly grows out of control and the cats will not have sufficient resources or be at risk of abandonment.
Our fundraiser target is $62,400 representing 2 months of sterilisation costs:
1. Community cats - 300 slots with microchipping /month through Stray Cat Sterilisation Programme (cost partially subsidised by AVS)
2. Pet cats - 100 slots with microchipping/month (cost fully borne by CWS)
3. Trapping & transport - 45 slots/ month
Monthly cost: $31,200 after deducting estimated AVS subsidies for sterilisation and microchipping costs of community cats only.
About the Charity
Cat Welfare Society is a charity that advocates the harmonious co-existence of humans and cats. We are at the forefront of humane management of the community cat population and educating the importance of responsible cat ownership.
For years, we have campaigned against the destruction of cats by offering a more effective and long term solution - education and sterilisation. As a charity, we function as a network of three staff, ten board members, twenty core volunteers and countless dedicated caregivers, rescuers, fosters and rehomers who work towards the same goal.
We are heavily reliant on donations to continue our work. We are a registered charity with IPC status that is audited annually and we publish our financial reports on our website.
