$10 will allow a needy person to get a simple haircut.
$50 will help an unemployed person to pay for daily transport for two weeks' to job interviews or counselling sessions.
$100 will put a child through primary school for a month.
$200 will provide an elderly person with daily meals for a month.
$400 will help a physically challenged person to buy a wheelchair.
Caritas Singapore is the social mission arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore. We coordinate and facilitate the Church's social mission, working with 25 Catholic charity and community organisations under our umbrella, whose charitable work cover a broad spectrum of needy in the community, regardless of race, religion or status. This includes the poor, families, youth at risk, children, prisoners, people living with HIV/AIDS, people requiring palliative care, migrant workers, overseas poor, and those who are physically and mentally challenged. Collectively, we serve over 50,000 beneficiaries.
Caritas Singapore raises a common pool of funds to support the charitable work undertaken by our 25 Catholic social and community organisations to help those in need. These organisations run more than 70 programmes aimed at helping the poor, needy and marginalised in the community. Programmes and services include financial assistance, residential care, shelters, respite care for caregivers, art and pyscho therapy, free legal clinic, befriending, counselling, palliative care, student care, skills training etc.
