About Campaignends 31 Dec 2019, 11:59 PM
The Canossian Village today, as it is affectionately called, comprises of Canossian School, a special needs school for children with hearing loss, Canossa Catholic Primary School, a MOE mainstream government-aided school, and Canossavillle Children and Community Services (Canossaville) that comprises of a Preschool, Student Care and Child Development Unit.
Canossaville evolved from a residential home to a social service agency that seeks to serve and impact children and their families through education, programmes, services, and advocacy. Some of our programmes include: early intervention for children aged 18 months to 6 years old with hearing loss, therapy and psycho-social support for children aged 7 to 12 years, as well as assistance for the low-income families.
We have always prioritised the most disadvantaged in society, regardless of race or religion.
The Official Opening of Canossaville Children and Community Services marks a new milestone in our mission to serve where the need is greatest in today's fast changing world.
Through the emphasis on the "Formation of the Heart", all our programmes and services in Canossaville are aimed at forming hearts, transforming lives and empowering communities.

About the Charity
Canossaville Children and Community Services (Canossaville) runs an inclusive Student Care Centre in the Aljunied-MacPherson area. Our programmes cater to both mainstream children, as well as those with mild-to-moderate additional needs, giving priority to the poorest of the poor living in the lower income neighbourhoods. We are open to all faiths and races.
Aged between seven to twelve years old, our children are taught values and skills to prepare them for life. Under our "Formation of the Heart" programme, they are nurtured to be persons of integrity, committed to God and caring for others. Within a safe and value rich environment, every child is empowered to develop their God-given talents to the fullest.
We also have a Child Development Unit set up this year, with a team of specialists comprising Social Workers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech Language Therapist, and an Occupational Therapist to support children with additional needs.
Founded by the Canossian Sisters in 1941, Canossaville is supported by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, National Council of Social Service and the Early Childhood Development Agency. It is also an approved Institute of Public Character and is authorized to receive tax-deductible donations.
