About Campaign

8 year-old Rahima lives in Aljunied area with three other siblings and her parents, in a 3-room rented flat. They could barely meet ends need. Rahima often starts the day with just a warm cup of Milo. She struggles with her daily school work and relies on the support given at the student care centre, including proper meals and transportation back home, as her parents could not afford to pick her.*Names have been changed to protect the privacy of our children

These real situations affect our children emotionally. Carrying such burdens at their age often becomes overwhelming when their home circumstances can sometimes be challenging and complicated. They lack opportunities to nurture and fulfill their God-given potential nor do they have resources for things that peers their age have and take for granted - from basic life necessities like school bags and a proper breakfast, to enrichment classes, outings and proper family time.

This Mother's Day and Father's Day, instead of a physical gift, give a GIFT OF LOVE to the children at Canossaville on behalf of your parents.

This will enable them with opportunities to explore their world, play, learn and grow together. Your gift will create an impact on their lives.

About the Charity

Canossaville Children and Community Services (Canossaville) runs an inclusive Student Care Centre in the Aljunied-MacPherson area. Our programmes cater to both mainstream children, as well as those with mild-to-moderate additional needs, giving priority to the poorest of the poor living in the lower income neighbourhoods. We are open to all faiths and races. Aged between seven to twelve years old, our children are taught values and skills to prepare them for life. Under our "Formation of the Heart" programme, they are nurtured to be persons of integrity, committed to God and caring for others. Within a safe and value rich environment, every child is empowered to develop their God-given talents to the fullest. We also have a Child Development Unit set up this year, with a team of specialists comprising Social Workers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech Language Therapist, and an Occupational Therapist to support children with additional needs. Founded by the Canossian Sisters in 1941, Canossaville is supported by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, National Council of Social Service and the Early Childhood Development Agency. It is also an approved Institute of Public Character and is authorized to receive tax-deductible donations.
