Our Campaign Story

ends 17 May 2021, 11:59 PM

Hi! My name is Aarushi Menon and I'm 17 years old. I started giving free online Math and French tuition for children during the circuit breaker period as a way to productively spend my break. After the completion of the 5 free classes, parents gave positive feedback and wanted to continue but pay fees this time.

Now, I wish to direct my efforts toward a greater cause during these pressing times with 100% of class fees to go as proceeds to The Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP).

My hope is the donations raised can help support those who are in need bone marrow and to make sure they have a fighting chance at life. Unfortunately, 70% of people who suffer from blood diseases are not lucky enough to find a matching donor in their families. In addition, leukaemia is one of the top 3 cancers most predominant amongst children. Learning these facts made me sympathize with patients of blood diseases as due to no fault of theirs, they must face such grave obstacles and the chance of losing their precious life.

I believe your donations towards BMDP will be greatly impactful and even a small donation can make someone's life! If you have no need for classes and simply wish to support my campaign with a donation, thank you very much and I am grateful for the motivation :)

About The Charity

Blood diseases such as Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma can strike any one at any time. When all other treatment has failed, a bone marrow transplant is their only chance of survival.

When patients are unable to find a matching donor within their family, they come to us in search of a Matched Unrelated Donor (MUD), who could give them a second chance at life. As finding a MUD means a healthy donor with the same DNA profile, the odds of finding that unique match is very low.

Thus since 1993, we at the Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP) are committed to building and managing Singapore's only register of volunteer marrow donors. Providing hope for patients suffering from blood-related diseases.
