Our Campaign Story
ends 08 Aug 2023, 11:59 PMThe 25th World Congress of Dermatology is hosted in Singapore. This fundraiser is to thank and leave a legacy to the host city as it represents an important part of a successful event.
This is the first edition to formally commit to the environment and sustainability. We believe it is critical to support the greening of Singapore through planting trees, contributing to National Parks Board's City in Nature vision, a key pillar of the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
In addition to planting trees, the Congress commitment to sustainability includes
1) WCD2023 Green policy; this aims to establish clear cross-event guiding principles for all decision-making, event planning, production and participation (e.g., avoid buying too much, reducing waste).
2) WCD2023 Green Nudges; in order to ensure that the impact generated from the event leaves a positive and lasting footprint, the WCD celebrate its 25th edition with 25 concrete steps to make this Congress more sustainable. They are divided into 4 macro areas; Move & Offset, Reuse Reduce Recycle, Go Local and Communicate & Engage.
3) WCD2023 Green Challenge; a challenge for sponsoring companies to share their commitment to the environment and sustainable approach.

About The Charity
Established by the National Parks Board (NParks) in 2002, Garden City Fund is managed independently as a charity, where 100% of donations raised go towards projects it supports. The charity hopes to cultivate a love for the environment, promote a sense of ownership, and encourage the community to play a part in preserving Singapore's legacy as a lush and vibrant City in Nature. Through partnerships with organisations and individuals, GCF provides a platform for the community to be involved and contribute towards conservation, research, outreach and education initiatives.
