"Clean Water Changes Lives"
This June, Team Aqua from Youth Corps Singapore, together with volunteers from 'Engineering Good" and Cambodian Youths, travelled to Sre Chea Khang Cheung Commune in Kampot Province, Cambodia; where the local households and school children lack access to clean drinking water, and have limited knowledge about the importance of good WAter and Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) habits.
Through our 10 days journey (http://engineeringgood.org/2016/06/20/we-are-team-aqua-reflections-on-our-water-for-cambodia-trip/), we supported the community through installation of rainwater harvesting systems to increase their access to a clean drinking water source. We also followed up with the previous group of youths on the rainwater harvesting system installation, donation of water filters, and awareness-raising activities for the households and schools to instil the importance of good WASH habits.
The funds raised will be used to support the program where the local community will continuously benefit from the better health and productivity through access to clean drinking water, and better understanding of the importance of good WASH habits. By ensuring the continued usage, this will lead to poverty reduction and improve living conditions.
"Clean Water Changes Lives". Do partner with us in giving this local community a changed life and improvement to their living conditions.
Thank you for your time, partnership and generosity!
We empower disadvantaged communities by improving their quality of life through sustainable engineering solutions.
Working in partnership with community-based organisations locally and in the region, we provide opportunities for engineers to contribute their expertise to address community needs through skilled volunteerism.
Technology is a great enabler, even more so for individuals and communities that are disadvantaged. Help support our work by donating to us - your donations will give us the support we need to continue our work in Singapore and the region.
