Our Campaign Story
ends 01 Sep 2022, 11:59 PMPart 2 of our fundraising effort to raise money for a new passenger van for Singapore Cancer Society. Our previous campaign is called Walk For You.
Singapore Cancer Society provide free transport services for low-income cancer patient to help take the worry out of getting to and from hospital for chemotherapy, radiation therapy, tests, and appointments.
Dedicated transport services are particularly important for cancer patients, many of whom may experience symptoms such as weakness, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and breathlessness due to cancer treatment. Some of them are wheelchair bound and do not have a caregiver to assist them. For these cancer patients, commuting by public transport can be a challenge.
SCS has 2 passenger vans that provide transport services to the cancer patient. Unfortunately, one of the passenger van has reached it end of life earlier this year and the other are due for scrapping at the end of the year. SCS serves about 150 beneficiaries with around 2,000 round trips yearly, the lack of passenger van will disrupt the cancer patient's appointment routines. Transportation shouldn't be a roadblock to cancer treatment.
We are helping SCS to raise money for a new passenger van through charity walk. Our team in groups of 5, will set off from different locations and cover an accumulated distance of 110km in a day.
