Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Jul 2020, 11:59 PM

We have reached the target! Thank you to all the donors for your support. Amidst the backdrop of the worst recession Singapore has faced since her independence, your donation speaks volume of your generosity. There are also friends who have supported this campaign by spreading the word, and I truly appreciate that as well :)

While now's really not the time to catch up over a meal, it would be lovely to catch up over the digital realm in the meantime! Till we next meet, in 2021 :)
I've only started work for 3 months.

3 months. And you know what I've seen?

Strength. Dexterity. Wisdom.

And most prominent of them all: pure, gentle, and loving souls.
We often think of people with disabilities to be somewhat different, somewhat unique, somewhat special.

All that is true - they are different, they are unique, and they are special.
I don't know what special needs mean to you. I don't even know what special needs mean to our beneficiaries.

But to me, what's so special when I see our beneficiaries is their tenacity to face up to challenges in spite of limitations.
I hope I've impressed upon you how important your contribution helps to empower the lives of our beneficiaries, and the community at large.

If you believe in this cause, please donate to Very Special Arts (Singapore).

p.s. if you are a friend, please let me know if you have donated. I'd like to thank you personally, and hopefully with a meal when all this madness is over.

About The Charity

Since 1993, VSA Singapore has been empowering persons with physical and intellectual disabilities through the arts. We promote visual, performing, and literary arts through various programmes and events for persons with disabilities. VSA Singapore has also established pathways for them to progress and excel in their fields and pursue a career in the arts.

For some of our beneficiaries, participating in our programmes are their only form of "formal" education. For others, art could be the only "hope" for livelihood.

The future of a person with disabilities is in your hands!

Would you be willing to make a special year-end donation of $50, $100 or whatever you can afford to help us meet our goal and provide lifelong learning for persons with disabilities?

Your generous donation would go a long way in helping us fund our art programmes, as well as to develop more established pathways to enable, empower and engage persons with disabilities. It will also qualify for 250% tax deduction.

Fundraising can help to raise more and change more lives.
