Our Campaign Story

ends 04 Sep 2021, 11:59 PM

Hello! I am Cheryl Joan from The Wilful Flower.

2021 is my last 'official' year as a youth, and I wanted to mark the occasion by creating a meaningful memory with and for youth.

TWF is running a project to raise awareness around issues relating to the mental wellness of our youth. When I think back on the past 20 years of my life, I feel grateful for the people who walked with me through the ups and downs in my journey. However, there are youth who struggle unaccompanied in battling the assaults that life hurls upon them, including cyber bullying and struggles with body image.

While TWF shines a spotlight on the stories of our youth, SAMH offers creative approaches to support their mental wellness through various means - arts, sports, outdoor activities, art therapy, and counselling & mentoring. Several complimentary programmes @samhealthcreatives depend solely on donations. That is where YOU come in!

The #TWFShineOn fundraising campaign aims to bring together a community of partners and individuals to contribute a small amount ($11 per donation) to SAMH as a means of telling our youth to not give up hope and Shine On! Why $11? Because 11 signifies two individuals standing side by side, journeying together!

About The Charity

Your donation matters.

Your invaluable donation can empower and help our beneficiaries in their journey to recovery and mental wellness. With your kind support, we can continue to provide rehabilitative, outreach, and creative services and programmes to persons with mental health issues, and help them recover and reintegrate back into the community.

Your generous gift also counts in funding our efforts to raise public awareness about mental well-being and resilience, as well as reduce the social stigma, and promote acceptance and respect for persons with mental health issues.

Established in 1968, the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) is a non-profit and non-government social service organization, a registered charity under the Charities Act and an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC). We have also been awarded the coveted Charity Transparency Award in 2018 & 2019 by the Charity Council.
