Citi-YMCA Youth for Causes is a community initiative jointly organised by Citi and the YMCA of Singapore since 2002. Funded by Citi Foundation, the programme is a catalyst to promote social entrepreneurship and community leadership development among Singapore youths. It provides youths aged 15 to 25 with seed funding, resources and guidance of selected mentors, to execute sustainable social entrepreneurship ideas and business models that benefit and support Social Service Agencies (SSAs) of their choice.
We are Team FIRE from YFC 2020. Fire is the acronym for faith, illuminate, resilience and empathy. Encompassing our Heartfelt wish to reach out to those who fall through the cracks in our society, our mission is faithfully dedicate ourselves in helping children in need,
illuminate and provide chances for children's development at the same time, displaying resilience and empathy in our uplifting project
About our beneficiary: Boys' Town aims to accomplish their mission of helping children and youth in need become socially integrated, responsible and contributing members of society through creating a CARING Milieu, which is also an acronym for their key values, Care and Concern, Adaptability, Responsibility, Integrity, Nurturing and Godliness
Funds raised by our team will be directed to Boys' Town to help them support their programmes and operations, especially during these times when the amount of donations from other channels drops dramatically.
About The Charity
Boys' Town is a charity founded by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel in 1948. We first began as a residential care for war-torn orphans, imparting education and life skills to them. Over the years, we have expanded to provide a continuum of services and become a one-stop children and youth centre. Boys' Town's services now include residential, fostering, youth outreach, adventure therapy and clinical intervention.
Boys' Town serves both boys and girls, from infants to young adults. We help children and youth who come from disadvantaged and disengaged families who may have faced hardship resulting from difficult home situations, financial struggles, abandonment, and abuse. Each year, Boys' Town works with close to 2,000 children and youths.
With 72 years dedicated to the social mission, Boys' Town equips the children and youths in need with the skills they need to become socially integrated, responsible and contributing members of society.
