We want to see families thrive, and are honoured to be selected as one of the Citi-YMCA teams to embark on a journey to impact families.
As the starting community for an individual, our family shapes us into who we are. This is why we, Solidarity Jia, are here to spearhead this cause to strengthen the family unit in Singapore.
Mr. Lee Kuan Yew said, "The tested norm is the family unit. It's the building brick of society." Singapore's late founding father had a good reason to state so - In 2016, our government spent $164 million of Singapore's national budget to address family dysfunctions. Damaged family relationships affect an individual's mental health. This results in poor work performance, thereby reducing company productivity and impacting the economy ultimately. As a result, society pays a big price for family breakdowns.
So let's all work together to build stronger families to impact our society! Winston Churchill once said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
These families need your help, so GIVE today!
