Our Campaign Story
ends 31 Dec 2022, 11:59 PMI was never prepared for half of what I went through. Despite it still being ongoing, I hope to raise awareness about it! I was recently diagnosed with superior mesenteric artery syndrome (SMAS). It is a rare condition that affects the small intestine causing a partial or complete blockage of the duodenum. SMAS is estimated to occur in 0.013-0.3% of the population & has a 33% mortality rate. I was immediately put on a feeding tube after receiving my diagnosis as I was severely malnourished and dehydrated. The treatment for SMAS is nutritional rehabilitation, but it doesn't always work. Major surgery is another option, but it comes with many risks.
It's been a rollercoaster ride, I must admit, but I've met so many wonderful people.
Additionally, I found a community of people going through similar experiences as me, as well as people around the world who supports me and are following my journey closely.
Since we all know how unpleasant it is to be sick, I have decided to raise funds for Make A Wish Foundation Singapore for my birthday! (April) I plan to raise $3000 by the end of 2022! You guys have given me so much love and support and I want to give back to the community! :) Helping to grant wishes for children has always been a dream of mine! A wish can do wonders. It is my strong belief that granting them a wish will empower them to fight their battle. With your help, we can grant more wishes for these children!
Thank you all so much for your support!
