Our Campaign Storyends 31 Oct 2020, 11:59 PM
Doing my bit to channel birthday gifts and blessings to support individuals who have lost their jobs or faced a personal income loss due to the COVID-19 crisis.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused shutdowns across the world, with people experiencing drastic dips in income and financial stability, and some even losing their jobs overnight.
Together with Park Hotel Group, YMCA of Singapore set up the Uplift Fund to support individuals who have lost their jobs or faced a personal income loss of at least 30% due to the COVID-19 crisis. Applicants will receive a one-time relief amount of between $500 to $1000 and a potential renewal of $500 after 3 months.
Priority is given to the following groups:
a) Individuals from the Hospitality and Food and Beverages (F&B) sectors
b) Main caregivers with extended family and/or special needs family members as well as those with chronic health conditions
c) Those who have not benefited from other COVID-19 national relief schemes
How can you help?
Any amount you choose to give is greatly appreciated. 100% of your donation goes into the Uplift Fund which would help our applicants to buy daily necessities, pay bills or school fees.
Do note that all donations of $50 and above are eligible for 250% tax deduction.

About The Charity
*COVID-19 Update: Due to COVID-19, many vulnerable communities face new challenges. Fundraising has also become exceptionally difficult. We would like to make an appeal to all to join us in our efforts in reaching out during these tough times. Your donation will fund new initiatives and existing programmes that support these communities. Please read "Our Programmes" for more information on these programmes.
The YMCA of Singapore stands to challenge, champion and train youth to stand up and be counted as independent and effective contributors to an inclusive society.
Our "YMCA Strong" campaign is a statement of our desired outcome for all we serve - to give our clients a hand up, not simply a handout, so that each one will be strengthened to reach their potential.
Our programmes range from training and employing special needs youth to mobilising and training youth leaders and volunteers to serve the needy in society.
