Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Dec 2021, 11:59 PM

We are a group of Sec 3 Students from Edgefield Secondary School, and we are very passionate about animals. As part of our Values-in-Action (VIA) project, we have partnered with Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to raise awareness and funds for animals in Singapore.

SPCA aims to help abandoned and abused animals in Singapore. As a team, we want to raise awareness on animal cruelty in Singapore as it is often a factor overlooked by many Singaporeans. Singapore is a well-developed country with well educated citizens and it may be shocking for some to find out that there are still some citizens that are still so cold-hearted to be abusing and /or abandoning animals.

According to SPCA, their Inspectorate team investigates an average of 30 to 40 alleged cruelty and welfare cases each month. These are just cases that were reported to SPCA and there may be even more cases of alleged cruelty and welfare cases that goes unreported.

Hence, we have decided to raise funds for the organisation to aid them financially especially during this COVID-19 period. We hope to receive your utmost support for this initiative to raise awareness and funds for animals in Singapore!

About The Charity

COVID-19 Update: Fundraising has become exceptionally difficult, with major events being cancelled and essential services still running 24/7. We are appealing for help for our needy animals to receive critical emergency care.

The SPCA is a registered non-profit animal welfare charity with IPC status, and our two main objectives are to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals.

The SPCA is not funded by the government. Relying mainly on kind donations from the public and fundraising to support the shelter and clinic, inspectorate work and animal rescue services, as well as other initiatives such as our foster care programme, sterilisation programme for community animals, and education and outreach efforts.

Over 100 animals are taken in by the Society every month. Most of these animals are abandoned, unwanted, abused, sick/injured or lost. Our officers have rescued numerous animals, like Gemma, Aiden and Cookie, across Singapore (see above video).

To carry out our animal welfare work, we require over S$3,000,000 annually.

You can make a difference to the animals.

Your kind donation will directly impact upon our operations in providing shelter, food, medical attention and love to the rescued animals that walk through our doors each day.

Your donations are eligible for 250% tax deduction.
