Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Aug 2021, 11:59 PM

This July to August, our employees will target to cover 250,000km over four weeks - the equivalent of circling the earth six times - by walking, running or cycling to advocate a healthy lifestyle while raising funds for President's Challenge 2021. Deemed the ST Engineering MOVEment, we will keep MOVE-ing, with the Group pledging $1 for every km clocked. Support our employees' bid to stay fit and do good by making direct donations here!

This year's President's Challenge is about 'Building a Digitally Inclusive Society' in order to empower lives by uplifting and helping vulnerable groups to upgrade their skills and capabilities using digital technologies and solutions. This means emphasis on efforts that equip groups like seniors, persons with disabilities and low-income families with digital tools, skills and connectivity so that they can remain socially and economically active in Singapore's digital-first way of life and work.

Being a technology leader in cross-disciplinary fields, the Group has a strong affinity towards this theme and is determined to support in setting a strong foundation for a digitally inclusive society, one in which all Singaporeans feel excited, empowered and enriched by digital technologies.

About The Charity

The President's Challenge is an annual community outreach and fundraising campaign for charities selected every year by the President's Office. It is a call to all Singaporeans in doing their part in building a more caring and inclusive society.

Initiated in 2000 by former President S R Nathan, the Challenge represents the coming together of people from all walks of life, to help the less fortunate. In 2012, under the leadership of former President Tony Tan Keng Yam, the Challenge was expanded to go beyond fundraising by including volunteerism and social
entrepreneurship.

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment. Visit http://www.pc.org.sg/WhoWeSupport to find out about the benefiting organisations supported by President's Challenge this year. 100% of the donations received go towards the charities we support.
