Our Campaign Story

ends 07 Oct 2021, 11:59 PM

During this COVID-19 pandemic, many seniors are cooped up in their homes, feeling lonely and forgotten, and most are also struggling financially.

More than 80% of Lions Befriender's seniors live in rental flats, and most do not have family or are disconnected or rejected by their loved ones.

We are a group of 4 Hwa Chong students who want to help the elderly who are crying silently.

We want to shower with care and love, and remind them that they are cherished, as they have so much wisdom in life to share!

We want to empower them to be SMART elderly, by showing them how to use digital devices and services, to connect with friends and their caregivers at Lions Befrienders.

Support us today to empower the elderly! On top of that, you will get a neat tote bag that reminds you what you fighting for the elderly.

Your contribution will be used to buy care packs for the seniors, to show them that we care, and provide them with food rations to alleviate their financial struggles.

They were there for us when we were young. Don't leave them ALONE now that they are old.

About The Charity

Established in 1995, LB has more than 25 years of experience in befriending and caring for seniors in order for them to age in place in the community. Over the years, LB strives to address the varied needs of more than 86,000 seniors by adopting a senior-centric approach in its eldercare services. Leveraging on the support of some 1,000 regular volunteers, we actively engage more than 6,000 at-risk seniors via a spectrum of integrated eldercare service from preventive to intervention through comprehensive programmes, including social, emotional, mental and physical, to improve their quality of life.

Amid the challenges in the eldercare landscape, LB undertakes constant review and adjustment to its programmes and services. Under our Community Outreach arm, we currently operate 10 Senior Activity Centres, 3 Cluster Support, 2 Senior Group Homes and Home Personal Care services. Our Befriending arm extends island-wide befriending services to socially isolated seniors. For its exemplary disclosure and corporate governance practices, LB was conferred the Charity Transparency Award by the Charity Council in 2016 and 2017.
