Our Campaign Storyends 31 Jan 2020, 11:59 PM
In the festive season, we take a moment to reflect and be thankful to the love, gifts warmth we receive and how fortunate we are. Christmas is round the corner and as Chinese New Year approaches, the love and joy should be spread to people who also need them.
Instead of giving Christmas presents, I have chosen to donate since 2015 yearly during Christmas for a meaningful cause. This year, I have chosen to support SPD's Charity Hongbao fund raising campaign to support the disabilities and their caregivers.
Chinese New Year is where families get together and celebrate. Let's help to spread the love and joy to more people. A little help goes a long way.
About The Charity
Founded in November 1964, SPD is a voluntary welfare organisation that supports people with physical, sensory (visual and hearing impairments) and developmental disabilities by promoting their interest, welfare and advancement so as to develop their potential to the fullest. We now serve over 5,000 people with disabilities of all ages through programmes and services that focus on these areas:
1. Children & Youth: Focus on education and development
2. Adults: Focus on Independence and employment
3. Elderly: Focus on independence
We develop programmes and services to help people with disabilities become more independent and self-reliant so that they can lead more fulfilling lives.
As we have been awarded with an Institution of Public Character (IPC) status, all cash donations to SPD are eligible for tax-deduction of 2.5 times the donation amount.
