Our Campaign Story

ends 30 Sep 2022, 11:59 PM

We are a group of Student Initiated VIA team from Raffles Girls School (RGS). Our project aims to bridge the gap in people's understanding of common mental health conditions, encourage the student population to adopt a more accepting attitude towards people with mental health conditions, and promote mental health literacy to create a more open and accepting society where mental health is embraced and not shunned. By raising awareness about mental health conditions and advocating against stigma, we hope to extend a positive sphere of influence both within and outside of the school community.

Through this campaign, we hope to promote mental health well-being amongst the students by showing love through sending mood socks to their friends and to raise funds for the beneficiaries of SAMH so that they will have more resources that will benefit them. We hope that purchasing mood socks for their friends/ themselves can not only help the RGS students to do good and help raise funds for those with mental health conditions but show support to their friends and/or self-care (depending if they are buying for friends and/or themselves). This is because gifting donuts to oneself or one's friends is an excellent way to showcase their care, appreciation and love for each other. The receiver will also be reminded that they are not alone and people do care about them. Orders will be distributed in may, in alignment with Friendship Month in September.

About The Charity

Your donation matters.

Your invaluable donation can empower and help our beneficiaries in their journey to recovery and mental wellness. With your kind support, we can continue to provide rehabilitative, outreach, and creative services and programmes to persons with mental health issues, and help them recover and reintegrate back into the community.

Your generous gift also counts in funding our efforts to raise public awareness about mental well-being and resilience, as well as reduce the social stigma, and promote acceptance and respect for persons with mental health issues.

Established in 1968, the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) is a non-profit and non-government social service organization, a registered charity under the Charities Act and an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC).
