Our Campaign Story

ends 30 Sep 2016, 11:59 PM

Dear Friends! Greetings from HCA Hospice Care! Trailblazers100 is a community of ultra-marathoners who are passionate about our hospice cause and they are the champions of our work in home hospice care. They are also incredible long distance runners who are willing to take on the commitment, pain, sweat and tears required to pull them through distances varying from 43 km to 162 km. They have been doing what they can, to raise funds and awareness for HCA Hospice Care. HCA Hospice Care takes care of about 70% of home hospice patients, making us Singapore's largest home hospice care service provider. Dedicated doctors, nurses, medical social workers and volunteers care for about 3,800 patients a year in their own homes. Since 1989, HCA has reached out to more than 60,000 patients. And the number continues to grow as Singaporeans become older. Our ability to provide the service free of charge is directly linked to our capability and capacity building including fundraising. Our annual expenses are about S$10 million. The funds raised through this event will supplement the funding received from the Ministry of Health and the National Council of Social Services. As a member of the Trailblazers100, I would like to take this opportunity to create awareness towards HCA hospice and palliative care cause. I will be taking part in the Craze Ultra on 3-4 September 2016. I have graciously dedicated this run to raise funds for HCA Hospice Care.I look forward to your support. Thank you.

About The Charity

HCA Hospice Care (HCA) is Singapore's largest home hospice provider and has been a registered charity since 1989. The organisation provides comfort and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, nationality and financial status.

We understand the medical and psychological needs of patients, caregivers and their families. By managing our patients pain and other symptoms with specialised care and support, we enable them to spend their last days at home, in comfort and dignity, with their families and loved ones.

Additionally, we care for the caregivers by providing them with psychosocial support, practical training, and advice at all hours with our 24/7 hotline.

As all our services including home hospice service for adults are provided free-of-charge to all patients under our care, we rely on donations to support what we believe is a basic right: to die with dignity.

With your contribution and commitment to helping us, we are confident of achieving our goal to adding life to the days of patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Fundraising can help to raise more and change more lives.
