Our Campaign Story

ends 20 Aug 2020, 11:59 PM

I'm Evan Huang, a 7th grader at Singapore American School. I began running at age 4 in Princeton, New Jersey. My first official 5K at age 6 was Run For Dad, to increase awareness and support research on prostate cancer. From Princeton to Shanghai, then to Singapore, I have been running all the way competitively in and out of school for over 5 years. It is so exciting that in less than 2 months, I will become the youngest qualifier for the Run for Hope 10K at age 12! I am eagerly looking forward to fundraising for my first 10K to support a similar cancer research cause.

Running has taught me perseverance, determination and a positive attitude, which are critical in the fight against cancer. Living an active lifestyle, continuing to exercise and having a positive mindset would definitely help stay healthy. Although certain types of cancer are curable, cancer is still a formidable disease that continues to call for more funding to support long-term and rigorous research.

Please support me while I train to run my first 10K by donating a small amount of money! Chinese New Year is almost here and from the Red Packets you receive, taking out 1 Dollar makes a difference. Raising money to support this cause is extremely important. I highly appreciate your generosity and encouragement. Every small donation and positive comment counts! Let's all face the challenge of cancer together, starting with every kilometer.

About The Charity

Established in 2005, the NCC Research Fund supports innovative research to find the breakthroughs that will change how we understand, diagnose, treat and ultimately cure cancer.

With cancer research and care under one roof at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, the knowledge gained from patient-centric research fuels advancement in clinical care, which in turn provides knowledge that drives research. We firmly believe that today's research will pave the way for tomorrow's cure for cancer.

Please note that in the event that the donations made for a specific purpose/project:
(i) Are less than the minimum $10,000 to support an existing project OR
(ii) Has no new applicable project after a 2-year waiting period, the NCC Research Fund Board of Trustees reserves the right to channel these donations to the Fund's general pool in support of other worthy research projects.

Please note that donations must be made before 15 December for processing and be included in time for tax assessment in the same year.

Fundraising can help to raise more and change more lives.
