REACT, Activate's CSR programme, strives to make a real and sustainable difference in people's lives. Giving back is an integral part of our company's culture, and we aspire to always REspond ACTively to the community's needs through philanthropic giving and volunteer work.

This year marks the silver jubilee of Activate, it is not just a celebration of our success, but also a time for us to celebrate the contributions of our current and past employees. Together with our alumni, we hope to do good by giving back to society.

In this REACT 2022, we are supporting seniors through our partnership with Lions Befrienders, a social service agency with the mission to provide friendship and care for seniors to age in place with community participation, enabling them to enjoy meaningful and enriching lives. As the ageing population in Singapore continues to grow exponentially, there is an increasing number of seniors living alone and are at risk of loneliness and social isolation.

We hope to render the support of our current employees, alumni, partners, family, and friends to raise funds to support the seniors and let them know that they are not alone.

Between 1 June to 3 July 2022, we hope to raise at least 8000 dollars, which will be matched dollar for dollar by Activate, up to 8000 dollars. The donations raised will be used to purchase 400 healthy goodie bags and shopping vouchers that will be distributed to the seniors. Excess funds will be donated to LB as outright donations.

About The Charity

Established in 1995, LB has more than 25 years of experience in befriending and caring for seniors in order for them to age in place in the community. Over the years, LB strives to address the varied needs of more than 86,000 seniors by adopting a senior-centric approach in its eldercare services. Leveraging on the support of some 1,000 regular volunteers, we actively engage more than 6,000 at-risk seniors via a spectrum of integrated eldercare service from preventive to intervention through comprehensive programmes, including social, emotional, mental and physical, to improve their quality of life.

Amid the challenges in the eldercare landscape, LB undertakes constant review and adjustment to its programmes and services. Under our Community Outreach arm, we currently operate 10 Active Ageing Centres, 3 Cluster Support, 2 Senior Group Homes and Home Personal Care services. Our Befriending arm extends island-wide befriending services to socially isolated seniors. For its exemplary disclosure and corporate governance practices, LB was conferred the Charity Transparency Award by the Charity Council in 2016 and 2017.
