Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Aug 2021, 11:59 PM

As part of Rapha Cycling Club Singapore (RCCSGP), I will be attempting an 'Everest' ride up Mount Faber on 6 August 2021. The Everest challenge consists of cycling the accumulated altitude of Mount Everest (8,849m above sea level) in a single ride with no sleep, on a single hill. This is estimated to be about 120 laps up Mt. Faber's peak and back, with more than 350 kilometres covered over approximately 22 hours of cycling.

I am doing this because of my personal encounter with cancer; my mother contracted both lung and liver cancer in her early 40s which changed her life completely. She is now approaching the 20-year survivorship mark, and I am thankful to all the doctors and for the medical care she received.

I would like to dedicate this ride to the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) Cancer Fund, and all the great work they do at NCIS for cancer patients and the community.

It's a long road to recovery for a cancer patient, and for that reason we ride. My goal is to raise the equivalent in terms of dollar value of metres climbed ($8,849 SGD) to help fund access to quality cancer care for the most vulnerable in our community. Come join me on this journey; your donation can make a huge impact!
