Our Campaign Storyends 31 Dec 2018, 11:59 PM
My name is Rachel. I am turning 10 this year, and want to celebrate it in a meaningful way. I decided to raise S$1,000 for charity. And I need your help!
The charity I selected is Caritas Singapore, the umbrella body for 25 Catholic charities whose work touches the lives of more than 50,000 beneficiaries, regardless of race or religion. The name Caritas itself means 'charity' in Latin.
Caritas Singapore appeals to me because the organisations under its umbrella support a wide array of causes such as the poor, disabled, children, youth at risk, families, prisoners, elderly, sick, people with HIV/AIDS, migrant workers, among others. They also reach out to needy groups overseas and respond to disasters like tsunamis and earthquakes. You may find more information on Caritas Singapore and the noble work they do at http://www.caritas-singapore.org.
The amount I hope to raise is not much, but as this is my first fund-raising attempt, I want to set a modest target which I hope is realistic. So please help me.
Monies raised for this cause on Giving.sg get credited directly into Caritas Singapore's bank account through Giving.sg, after a small deduction for bank fees.
So please open wide your hearts and of course your wallets to support me in this worthy cause. Any donation (no matter how small or big) would be filled with gratitude and appreciation. And lastly, if it's not too much too ask, please spread the word by sharing my message with your friends and relatives
