Our Campaign Story

ends 30 Sep 2020, 11:59 PM

Project Iridescent is a 2020 Youth for Causes (YFC) team. We have gained approval from the VWO we are going to be working with, Make A Wish Foundation Singapore.

'Iridescent' means to display bright and luminous colours like those of a rainbow, and this is what we want to do in our project. We want to add colour and brighten the lives of Make A Wish's beneficiaries through wish fulfillment, bringing hope and joy into their lives. Our logo features flying balloons in the colours of the rainbow. Flying balloons are a symbol of happiness, celebration, freedom and upliftment, which is what Project Iridescent hopes to impart on Wishkids.

We have two main goals in Iridescent, to raise awareness and to raise funds for Make A Wish Singapore. Firstly, with raising awareness, we want to encourage more volunteerism in our Singapore youths, with approximately 650 volunteers from across different schools participating in our June street sales. For our organising team members, we hope that this will be a fruitful and enriching experience for each of them. Furthermore, we also wish for a more empathetic and caring society, with people willing to extend love and support to these children fighting life-threatening illnesses.

Amidst the coronavirus situation we recognise that there will be many difficulties in planning and organising numerous activities for the year. In light of the situation, we have shifted our fundraising activities online, utilising giving.sg for this purpose.
