Our Campaign Story
ends 31 Mar 2021, 11:59 PMIn our digitally connected modern lives, many seniors are left behind as they are unable to connect digitally. Unlike us, vulnerable seniors are unable to turn to the digital world to pass time or stay connected online.
Project Audible Cheer aims to provide mental and emotional support for our vulnerable elderly. Public care and support are sought to gift a set of MP3 portable radio, MP3 card and USB charger, to revive the good old times.
Our partner, 3Pumpkins, created custom listening shows in mandarin, dialects, Malay and Tamil that bears resemblance to Redifussion programs. The radio sets funded through Project Audible Cheer extend the program's reach to non-digitally-savvy seniors.
This project was conceived at the start of CB, to directly address the needs of isolated seniors. We aim to bring audio content to reduce seniors' levels of isolation and loneliness, issues that can have serious physical and mental health effects. We seek your support to bring more cheer to our lonely elderly.
Why this project?
I have seen how much my elderly parents turn to music for comfort. On a prior distribution, I also witnessed how happy the elderly were to receive content in their native dialects.
Music is Food for the Soul! As featured in TODAYOnline, AsiaOne, and mentioned Straits Times:
