About the Charity

Assumption English School (AES), formerly known as Boys Town English School, is a government-aided school founded by the Brothers of St Gabriel in 1953. It had started as a school of the Boys' Town community to provide general education to disadvantaged boys or orphans from primary to secondary levels. In 1973, the Secondary section of AES became co-educational with the merging of the Secondary Section from CHIJ Bukit Timah and took on its current name. In 1993, the Primary Section of the school was then closed to accommodate AESs transformation to a typical secondary school. Today, AES continues its mission of delivering holistic education consistent with the philosophy of the founder of the Brothers of St Gabriel, St. Louis Marie De Montfort. It is our vision to educate and develop our students into confident, responsible and able young adults with a strong spirit of service to the community and nation. Details of the schools programmes and achievements can be found on our website at http://www.assumptionenglish.moe.edu.sg.
