Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Aug 2022, 11:59 PM

Food is the way to the heart. It uplifts, it comforts and it even excites. It is the glue that binds us all together.

Welcome to the second instalment of Pocket HeARTs!

Pocket HeARTs is a charitable initiative by Temasek Polytechnic Dance Ensemble (TPDE), hoping to raise $1,000 for Food From The Heart, a food distribution organisation in Singapore which supports beneficiaries of all kinds - from hawkers, families and elders - through food distribution programmes.

To boost our journey to achieve this goal, TPDE has a line-up of exciting dance classes led by our established alumni, accessible with a combination of monetary and food donations.

Following the January instalment of classes, we're kickstarting our April classes!

The second set of these dance classes will be held from 20-21 April 2022.

About The Charity

Food from the Heart is a charity founded in February 2003 by Singapore-based Austrian couple Henry and Christine Laimer, who were inspired to channel surplus food from bakeries to families in need after they read an article about bread wastage.

Today, Food from the Heart is Singapore's foremost independent food charity with IPC status that makes a tangible and meaningful contribution to fighting hunger through bread rations and food packs. With the support of donors, food industry partners, and more than 10,000 volunteers, Food from the Heart made a difference to the lives of 59,500 people throughout Singapore by distributing S$7.22 million worth of food in 2021.

To alleviate hunger by providing reliable, consistent and sustainable food support to the less fortunate through food distribution programmes.
