I am honoured to be part of Martin Curries' Peru X Challenge Team this year. We are a group of 13 colleagues volunteering, biking and hiking our way up Macchu Picchu this September and with that, raising funds on behalf of Martin Currie's Charitable Foundation for a group of selected charities.
The Charity I chose to support is one that not only aims to give Singapore's elderly poor a clean and safe place to call home, but also mobilises the community in providing safe lodging for low-income communities in the region. They have impacted lives of our neighbours in Indonesia, Thailand, China etc and have contributed in the reconstruction of areas struck by natural disasters -
something we in Singapore are fortunate to be protected from.
Do join me in supporting their cause; you can read more about Habitat for Humanity Singapore at http://www.habitat.org.sg and more on Martin Currie's Charitable Foundation at https://www.martincurrie.com/corporate/about-us/corporate-social-responsibility.
A donation of any amount helps their cause (100% of donations go to the charity minus bank and GST charges only), and as an NPO, donations of 10 dollars and above are eligible for tax deduction.
About The Charity
Habitat for Humanity Singapore is part of an international Christian housing charity that seeks to eliminate poverty housing worldwide. Convicted that safe and affordable housing provides a path out of poverty, we have been working alongside low-income communities to increase their access to improved living conditions. Since 2004, Habitat Singapore regularly sends volunteer teams to build decent and affordable houses across Asia-Pacific. Locally, we provide intensive home-cleaning for vulnerable individuals and families so they can have a safe & sanitary place to call home. To learn more, donate or volunteer, visit habitat.org.sg
