Our Campaign Story

ends 21 Aug 2021, 11:59 PM

All funds raised will go to Community Chest before they are disbursed to the Social Service Agency (SSA) mentioned below after considering the programme objectives and financial needs of the SSA.
Memories make a person. So what happens when a person starts losing their memories? For persons living with dementia, memory loss is common and often accompanied by deterioration of intellectual function and personality changes. Nonetheless, they, together with their families, fight to live life to its fullest.
In Singapore, according to a 2015 study led by the Institute of Mental Health, one in 10 people aged 60 and above may have dementia, translating to almost 82,000 people in 2018.
While we believe that their mental strength can and will triumph, we can take tangible steps to enhance their lives with a dementia-friendly Singapore. One organisation working towards this goal is the Alzheimer's Disease Association (ADA). Formed in 1990, ADA hopes to reduce stigma by increasing awareness and understanding of dementia, enabling and involving persons living with dementia to be integrated and accepted in the community; and leading in the quality of dementia care services for persons living with dementia and their families. ADA offers a wide range of services, such as dementia care services, caregiver support services and training programmes on dementia care.
