Our Campaign Story
ends 05 Jul 2023, 11:59 PMI was never prepared for half of what I went through. Despite these trying times, I hope to raise awareness about it! I was diagnosed with superior mesenteric artery syndrome (SMAS), postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), small fiber neuropathy & gastrointestinal dysmotility. SMAS is a rare condition that affects the small intestine causing a partial or complete blockage of the duodenum. I was recently put on TPN as I was not able to tolerate my feeds through my NJ tube, but I am still fighting every single minute to get better :) Having rare disorders is not easy because of the little knowledge behind the conditions.
It's been a rollercoaster ride, I must admit, but I've met so many wonderful people. Additionally, I found a community of people going through similar experiences as me, as well as people around the world who supports me and are following my journey closely.
Since we all know how unpleasant it is to be sick, I have decided to raise funds for Rare disorders society Singapore and plan to raise $5000 by 2023!
As someone with rare illnesses, I understand the struggles of living with them and how it affects a family. I cannot imagine my life without them :) Furthermore, You guys have given me so much love and support and I want to give back to the community! :) With your help, we will help patients to have access to sustainable treatments and live a quality life!
Thank you all so much for your support!
About The Charity
We know you care because LOVE IS NOT RARE. Individuals with rare diseases form a minority in our society that receive little or no attention. Due to the lack of resources, they may not receive timely and accurate diagnosis, which can cause serious complications including disability and death. The charity understands the fight on a deeply personal level and keeps in mind the needs of this community at all times. Our collective efforts will allow patients to have access to sustainable treatments and live a quality life.
