Hello! We are from Volunteer Guitar Connection! We are a group of passionate individuals brought together by our love for music and our compassion to uplift and empower the less privileged in the community.
In this month of March, we will be partnering NKF to bring life and hope to kidney failure patients. Through our music performances, we hope to shed light on the detrimental impact kidney failure has on individuals and their families; and heighten awareness on the importance of renal health.
Follow us on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/VolunteerGuitarConnection, and Instagram account, https://www.instagram.com/VolunteerGuitarConnection/ to find out how we are raising awareness on kidney health. Catch us on 20 March, 12pm to 1pm, on our social media platforms when we will be putting up a specially curated show to raise funds for NKF patients. Our performance will be put up on Kidney We Care: Let's Revolutionise! Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/kwc.letsrevolutionise/) too!
Support us by donating generously now. Let's uplift the lives of needy kidney failure patients together.
Kidney failure is on the rise. In Singapore, every day, there are 5.5 new patients down with kidney failure and require dialysis or transplant to survive. The number of Singaporeans diagnosed with the illness has jumped by more than 50% from 1,275 (2009) to 1,999 (2017). NKF admitted an annual average of 855 new dialysis patients in the past 5 years and the disease burden to treat kidney failure amounted to $116 million the last financial year.
Covid-19 has posed many new and tough challenges for NKF and our patients. The disease has placed our patients at higher risk due to their weaker immune systems. We remain committed to ensuring that affordable dialysis continues to be made available to kidney failure patients with the best support and care possible.
For the first time, NKF is organising a volunteer-helmed virtual charity event, Kidney We Care: Let's Revolutionise! that will be happening from 1 March to 31 March 2021. The event aims to heighten community awareness about kidney disease and bring forth a new era of volunteerism and a new wave of kidney health advocates. Virtual booths comprising activities, workshops and performances initiated by our volunteers will be set up on NKF website. Through this event, we hope to raise $100,000, which will go towards providing quality treatment and holistic care for our patients.
Your kind donation will Give Life and Hope to our patients!

About The Charity
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is currently supporting more than 5,000 kidney failure patients, about two-thirds of the national kidney failure patient population. Our patients are of the lower income group. Treating a patient costs over $2,000 a month, however, the treatment our patients receive is highly subsidised, with 74% paying $50 or less a month out-of-pocket.
NKF remains committed to journeying with our patients every step of the way in their treatment and rehabilitative care, advocating kidney health to prevent kidney failure and making a difference in the renal landscape to benefit the community.
Partner us in giving Life & Hope to our patients now!
All donations received through Giving.sg will be channelled to NKF General Fund, which will be used to provide subsidised dialysis treatment and holistic care for our patients.
