Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Oct 2022, 11:59 PM

Meet Abigail, a teacher with the Canossian Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC) and an Associate Psychologist since 2021.

Canossian EIPIC is the only early intervention programme that specialises in supporting children with hearing loss. As an early intervention teacher, Abigail works with young children with hearing loss aged 18 months to 6 years old. She takes time to set customised intentional goals for each child and empowers them to achieve their developmental milestones.

A child with behavioural issues came under her care in her first year in Canossian EIPIC. Joseph (not his real name) would throw tantrums whenever things did not go his way or if a change interrupted his normal routine. Abigail met with the child's parents to develop strategies such as implementing calming down activities into his routine to help him be more aware of his emotions.

Being an educator for children with special needs has brought great meaning to Abigail's journey as an educator. She feels so fulfilled whenever she sees an improvement, no matter how small, in the students she cares for.

Canossaville celebrates our 81st Anniversary this year and we thank all our supporters and donors for your GIFT that impacts the children and their families entrusted in our care.

Canossaville started as an orphanage on 15 August 1941 at Sallim Road, in response to the increasingly urgent need to serve the poor in the Geylang-Aljunied area.

Over the years, the Canossian Sisters and the children endured a war, relocation to Malaysia, expansion, and finally as Canossaville Children and Community Services today. Mother Foundress, St Magdalene, always said that we must change with the sign of the times. As such, Canossaville will continue to grow and strengthen our support for the children, families, and the communities.

The proceeds from this campaign will ensure that we continue to provide our essential programmes and services to our children and families from all races and faiths, persist in providing early intervention support for our children with hearing loss, and grow and expand our assistance to those in need.

Your GIFT today and support for our cause makes a world of difference.

Join us today and be a Never-Ending Gift!

Thank you!
