I am raising S$40,000 for 40 charities by the time I turn 40 in 2017. Simply put, 40k for 40 by 40! I have already donated S$4,000 of my own funds to these charities and I hope you will participate in this effort. This charity is one of the 40 beneficiaries. Thank you for helping to make this difference.
About The Charity
St Luke's ElderCare (SLEC) is a non-profit eldercare service provider serving more than 5,000 elders through a full range of integrated services and programmes for our elders that include centre-based, community-based, home-based and residential-based services. We currently operate 23 senior care centres and a nursing home in Ang Mo Kio. We continuously expand to meet the demands of eldercare in Singapore.
Mr Theodore Ding suffered a health scare in September 2016 while in China. He was urgently admitted into hospital and after a series of medical tests, he was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease.
In October 2019, Mr Ding, who is on full financial support, started attending maintenance day care and physiotherapy sessions at SLEC Telok Blangah Centre. With the increasing loss of mobility, the physiotherapy sessions that he attends twice a week helps slow down the deterioration of his condition. Therapists at SLEC taught him simple exercises to practice when he is at home during the weekends.
"I am most grateful to the team at SLEC. They are a close knitted team with everyone working hand in hand to ensure that every elder is well taken care of. Everyone in SLEC has been most friendly and dedicated in making this place feel like home for all the elders here."
