Our Campaign Story

How are you giving of yourself, to make the world a better place?

Growing up, both of us have never had to think twice about our material needs. An education, our professional goals, and most importantly, our time - these are things that we have never had to sacrifice in order to just survive. We both had the luxury of choosing how to give of our time or resources however we want.

Over the course of our journey together, we have had many opportunities to reflect upon the gifts that have been bestowed upon us and how blessed we have been. As we prepare to embark on married life, we invite you to join us in doing our little bit for the world.

While we greatly appreciate and welcome all angpows and gifts that you would give us for our wedding, we invite you to consider donating to Caritas Singapore instead. Caritas Singapore is the official social and community arm of the Catholic church which serves the poor, destitute families, and youth, amongst others.

As we worked towards this decision, we were constantly reminded by the words of Christ, especially so in the parable of the Unjust Steward (Luke 16:1-13). In this parable, Jesus cautioned His disciples, "You cannot be a slave of two masters; of both God and of money." Jesus does not condemn those who have money or material possessions but rather calls us to be good stewards of what we have, no matter how big or small.
