Our Campaign Storyends 15 May 2023, 11:59 PM
Meet Darius (not his real name), a Primary 3 student enrolled in Canossaville Student Care (CSC).
Darius grew up in a Mandarin-speaking household. When he first joined CSC, he found communicating in English a challenge which resulted in a lack of focus and confidence in his studies.
Thanks to the support and patience of his CSC teachers, Darius made significant improvements in his language and communication skills over the past year and a half.
Sadly, Darius' family experienced tragedy when his mother suffered a cancer relapse. The high medical bills meant that the family faced great financial difficulty, causing them to struggle to afford Darius' CSC fees. His family considered pulling him out of CSC to ease their financial burden but hesitated to do so as they recognised the improvement that Darius was making.
Thanks to the support from many partners and donors, Canossaville was able to assist in covering Darius' fees and help ease the burden faced by the family.
Your donations can help children like Darius and their families. It is crucial that our services are accessible to every child regardless of family background to help them achieve their potential in life.
Thank you for Making A Difference!
This is an impact story as part of Canossaville's Making A Difference campaign! Donations shall be eligible for a 40% dollar matching by the Singapore Government and Tote Board up to cap of $250,000 per charity. Every dollar counts towards our work!
Thanks to the support from Tote Board, every dollar donated to this campaign will be matched with an additional 40% and will go towards supporting Canossaville's Making A Difference (M.A.D) Fund 2023.
Canossaville is a social service agency in MacPherson supporting typically developing children and those with hearing loss and learning needs from birth to 12 years old by providing them an inclusive environment for learning and play. With the first option for the poor, provide extra support for the vulnerable families in our community through social and psychological aid.
Regardless of their family circumstances or their conditions, we strive to build an inclusive environment for these children, and ensure that our programmes are accessible to all.
For infants and young children with hearing loss, wearing hearing aids and having cochlear implants is just the beginning of the journey. Children with hearing loss need more intense and intentional intervention with support from trained therapists and teachers.
Together We Make A Difference!
The Making A Difference (M.A.D) Fund is set up to support children and their families within Canossaville's community. Donations raised will be utilised for programmes and activities dedicated to children, especially those with hearing loss and multiple disabilities. This could include, but are not limited to programme fee subsidies, purchase of equipment and resources essential to the running of programmes and services.
