Our Campaign Story
ends 31 Mar 2022, 11:59 PMNPC. I had no idea what these three letters stood for when I glimpsed them on a form the ENT consultant was completing after he had performed a nasal scope on me and taken a biopsy sample. Several weeks later, he broke the news: I had nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC). A scan revealed the cancer had progressed to Stage 4. Shortly after, I began eight weeks of radiotherapy under the care of radiation oncologist Dr. Joseph Wee.
That was in 1994 and I've been cancer-free since. Much has changed in the 27 years. Cancer treatments have improved; survival rates for NPC and other cancers have risen; research has benefited patients and survivors; NPC incidence has fallen; patients now have ready access to cancer-related information; and support groups like NPC Support Group have sprung up to offer help.
What hasn't changed is there are still cancer patients who need help. The cancer journey can be an arduous one, especially for those who live alone, lack support at home or in the workplace, or have trouble paying for treatment, medication and follow-up care.
For such patients, there is no joy even in the festive season that will soon be upon us. You can lighten the load for them and help in optimising patient care by contributing to the NCCS Cancer Fund. All donations will support patient care, cancer research and cancer education. 30% of proceeds will be used to cover operating expenses.

About The Charity
Someone in Singapore is diagnosed with cancer every hour. For many, a cancer diagnosis is an emotional and difficult time. The NCCS Cancer Fund (NCCSCF) helps support the fight against cancer by providing financial assistance for needy patients, ensuring sufficient funding for NCCS scientists and clinicians to continue their work in cancer research and promotes cancer education for healthcare professionals and the general public.
NCCS helps over 26,000 cancer patients each year. From the moment they are diagnosed and throughout their treatment we are with them, providing the very best care, by the best people, in the best place.
Donate today and help us give hope to people with cancer.
