LadyLocks strongly believes in empowering women. An empowered woman is someone who knows her strengths and isn't afraid to embrace them. Empowering women starts with you.
Lady Locks aims to empower women to wear your hair with confidence and feel beautiful every day.
We are proud to be able to give back to society and partner with AWARE. Show your support for the women around you, show them they matter, and remind them they're strong.
In addition to your generous donations, 10% from every sale with LadyLocks will be contributed to LadyLocks x AWARE - Vulnerable Women's Fund.
Your support makes all the difference!
Your donations will go towards three gender-equality programmes
1. Women's Helpline and Sexual Assault Care Centre
2. S.H.E. Project Shelter
3. Research and Advocacy
Your support enables us to grow AWARE's services as much as possible during this period. Because of this, we have decided to extend the Vulnerable Women's Fund to a stretch goal of $500,000. This new goal would mean that AWARE can provide more counselling sessions for survivors of domestic/sexual violence, more returned Helpline calls, expanded programmes for S.H.E. Project residents, expanded research on vulnerable women and more public First Responder trainings.
The COVID-19 pandemic underscores the already stark inequalities experienced by women in areas such as unemployment, housing, caregiving and domestic violence. AWARE received a total of 752 calls to its Helplines in May 2020 - a new all-time call record. In May 2020, AWARE received 180 calls pertaining to family violence, a 137% increase over family violence calls in May 2019.
We need your help to ensure that we can continue to provide our services for women during this period.
Your contribution goes towards:
1. Our Women's Helpline and Sexual Assault Care Centre, which support women in crisis with counselling, support groups and legal clinics.
2. Our S.H.E. Project Shelter, providing 10 low-income single mothers and their children with up to 2 years of free housing.
3. Our Research and Advocacy work, which carries the voices of the underserved to those who can enact change.

About The Charity
The Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE) is Singapore's leading gender equality advocacy organization. AWARE supports and empowers women on an individual basis and seeks to remove all gender-based barriers that prevent individuals in Singapore from developing their potential to the fullest and realizing their personal visions and hopes. It does this in three ways, namely, research and advocacy, education, and providing social services.
In 2016, AWARE won the Charity Governance Award 2016 for the Medium Charities/IPCs category.
The Charity Governance Awards, (CGA), organised by the Charity Council, aim to promote good governance in the charity sector by acknowledging the excelling work of charities, while inspiring others to emulate their best practices.
AWARE qualified as a candidate for the CGA by becoming a winner of the Charity Transparency Awards (CTA). The CTA recognises charities with good disclosure practices.
