Our Campaign Story

ends 16 Jan 2022, 11:59 PM

I am Justin Tan, a Palliative Care Team Member in St. Andrew's Community Hospital (SACH). Our Multidisciplinary Palliative Care Team address the needs of patients with life-limiting illnesses and journey with our patients and their families.

Palliative Care is a Journey of Love involving our patients, their loved ones, the care team and our volunteers. Love for our loved ones does not cease when they pass on. Memories of them stay on in our hearts. The grieving process of our patients' loved ones is impacted by how their loved ones lived out their last lap of life. Bearing this in mind, we encourage our patients and their loved ones to live life to the fullest, to Celebrate Life and Cherish Memories together.

We are embarking on a journey to complete a 1,000 km run from 1 November to 31 December 2021 to raise awareness and funds for the work of SACH Palliative Care. Join us on our Journey of Love and support us with your giving today!

Details of our run will be shared on

About The Charity

Out of passion to care for the physical, emotional and social well-being of the community, the St. Andrew's Medical Mission was founded in 1913 by Dr. Charlotte Ferguson-Davie, the wife of the first Anglican Bishop of Singapore who was also a medical doctor herself. Seeing the plight of the local women and children of that time and the lack of medical services for them, Dr. Ferguson-Davie set up a dispensary along Bencoolen Street for the destitute women and children. The Medical Mission continued to meet the locals' needs and thus led to the opening of more dispensaries and eventually, St. Andrew's Mission Hospital in 1923 and St. Andrew's Orthopaedic Hospital in 1939.

Working closely with the Government, SAMH constantly developed its services to meet the relevant needs of our local community at all times. Today, SAMH has under its operation: St. Andrew's Autism Centre, St. Andrew's Community Hospital, St. Andrew's Nursing Home and St. Andrew's Senior Care.
