Our Campaign Story
ends 31 Jan 2023, 11:59 PMI am Justin Tan, a Palliative Care Team Member in St. Andrew's Community Hospital (SACH). Our Care Team addresses the needs of patients with life-limiting illnesses and journeys with our patients and their families.
Palliative Care is a Journey of Love involving our patients who require end-of-life care, their loved ones, the care team and our volunteers. The Care Team strives to Celebrate Life, Fulfil Wishes and Cherish Memories of our patients together with their loved ones.
Journeying alongside our patients on their last lap of life, witnessing the pain and suffering that they undergo often makes our heart ache. The least we can do is to help them live and leave well. This includes celebrating festive occasions and birthdays with them as well as fulfilling their last wishes such as being able to participate in their loved ones' wedding tea ceremony and family photo shoot.
From 1 November 2022 to 31 January 2023, we will embark on a 1,000km run to raise awareness and funds for SACH Palliative Care Work. Join us on our Journey of Love and support us with your giving today!
Details of our run will be shared on

About The Charity
Out of passion to care for the physical, emotional and social well-being of the community, the St. Andrew's Medical Mission was founded in 1913 by Dr. Charlotte Ferguson-Davie, the wife of the first Anglican Bishop of Singapore who was also a medical doctor herself. Seeing the plight of the local women and children of that time and the lack of medical services for them, Dr. Ferguson-Davie set up a dispensary along Bencoolen Street for the destitute women and children. The Medical Mission continued to meet the locals' needs and thus led to the opening of more dispensaries and eventually, St. Andrew's Mission Hospital in 1923 and St. Andrew's Orthopaedic Hospital in 1939.
Working closely with the Government, SAMH constantly developed its services to meet the relevant needs of our local community at all times. Today, SAMH has under its operation: St. Andrew's Autism Centre, St. Andrew's Community Hospital, St. Andrew's Nursing Home, St. Andrew's Senior Care, St. Andrew's Migrant Worker Medical Centre, St. Andrew's Mission School and St. Andrew's Mission Hospital Clinic.
