Our Campaign Story
ends 17 Mar 2022, 11:59 PMAfter close to ten years of teaching in a government school, I have seen how important school is for children and youth. School is an absolute necessity for our young. In school, our young will undergo growth and self-discovery. In school, our young get equal access to opportunities and platforms for growth and learning across all domains, whether academic or extra-curricular. This will provide them with a greater context and deeper understanding of the world, a means to get out of their comfort zone, a chance at discovering themselves both as individuals as well as part of a community. It is only then that our young can be empowered to realise and actualise themselves!
Unfortunately, while school provides the safety of homogeneity where they are all treated equally, we need to be aware that our young come from very different homes. Across most research studies, the influence of family background and poverty on students' achievement levels (and this may then affect their lives as working adults) is undeniable.
We need to help them.
Beyond Social Services is a charity striving to keep students in school and out of trouble. They provide the necessary guidance, care and resources to families from less privileged backgrounds.
This year, for my birthday, I would want nothing more than for you to donate to this cause. Education is close to my heart and can be the way out of the poverty cycle for these young people.
I (We) thank you for your generosity. :)
About The Charity
Beyond serves disadvantaged young people and their families to move them beyond their problems. We want to develop young people who respect the law, value education and seek to become responsible persons.
Keeping young lives on track is about building a community where they can grow, contribute and believe that they are a part of. Beyond works to build inclusive communities where young people, local neighbourhoods, and wider society, can come together to share their gifts and cooperate on resolving their issues.
We value inter-organisational collaboration & will steadily expand by building networks of individuals and organisations that contribute towards our vision. We believe that our target group always benefits when more members of the community take an active interest in their well-being.
