Our Campaign Storyends 28 Oct 2021, 11:59 PM
This campaign is to help seniors at Community Hub at Fernvale to remain active, giving them fun lessons and healthy activities to participate in. A stronger body can help to prevent the risks of falls too.
The Community Hub at Fernvale is a place where nearby residents or seniors come towards to seek support whether be it socially or psychologically and they also provide subsidised healthcare and medical boxes to rental block residents who face financial struggles.
The community hub also encourages and recommends seniors to go for health screening under the recommended Screen for Life (SFL) initiative.
Your donations will be used to fund this programme as well as other SATA CommHealth's programmes for the needy and seniors.
Our Community Hub was set up in 2019 to serve the residents living in Fernvale, mainly the rental block residents. Aiming to be a one-stop centre for the residents, the hub not only provides subsidised healthcare but social and psychological support as well.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Community Hub had to put all physical social activities on hold, and regular phone calls and at times home visits were catered to care for the vulnerable residents, to ensure that they are coping well.
To continue engaging the residents, the community team continues to conduct social activities such as Group Exercise and Cooking Demo through online Zoom sessions. Objectives are to engage the elderly and help them strengthen their bones, joints and brain so that they subject to lesser risks of falls.
The Community Hub continues to raise awareness and encourage residents to get vaccinated, especially flu and pneumococcal vaccines, for added protection in addition to COVID-19 vaccinations. They are also encouraged to go for health screening, under the recommended Screen for Life (SFL) initiative.
We offer subsidised healthcare and medical boxes to rental block residents who face financial struggles.
Help us support more by donating to our cause of helping these seniors and vulnerable in the community.

About The Charity
SATA CommHealth was established in 1947. As an IPC charity, we are Here To Care for the health of seniors and the vulnerable in the community. We serve around 200,000 patients in the medical centres every year, and the proceeds are channelled to help fund our community services.
Our beneficiaries are served through community events, subsidised care at our medical centres as well as home and centre-based services which include homecare, doctors-on-wheels, day rehabilitation centres and Fernvale Community Hub.
We were awarded the Charity Governance Award (Large Charities category) in 2018. For three consecutive years, we were also awarded the Charity Transparency Award by the Charity Council for its exemplary disclosure practices.
We continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting MOH and community partners, in various areas such as providing vaccinations via our Mobile Vaccination Teams and Vaccination Centre, administering ART and PCR swabs and managing patients in our Public Health Preparedness Clinics.
