Our Campaign Story

ends 11 May 2018, 11:59 PM

M.M, a 3 month old pup, together with her sister Vivi were always found playing together on the idyllic green field at Mount Vernon (MV) Sanctuary. They initials represent the beautiful and tranquil place they were born in but unfortunately their home was being destroyed to make way for development. After Vivi was trapped as part of the TNRM project, M.M did not join her and was always seen alone.

One morning her feeder found M.M looking frail and listless. Noting something is wrong, her feeder sent M.M to the vet immediately where she was discovered to be covered in engorged and dripping ticks of all sizes. The blood test results were alarming. Red blood count and platelet were at dangerously low levels, liver values were off the scale and she was passing out liquid stools non-stop. To top it off, she had 2 strains of Babesia tick fever! M.M needed a blood transfusion immediately and without treatment, she will very quickly fade away.

Thankfully we were able to find a donor for her very rare blood type, a handsome hero named Trevor. After the transfusion, M.M needed intensive treatment at the vet to treat her babesia tick fever and damaged liver. At only 3 months old, that is a lot for a little girl to bear. We are praying that M.M will recover and grow stronger everyday.

Her medical bill is now at $3,200 and we hope you can donate and help us nurse M.M back to health! Thank you for your generosity!

About The Charity

SOSD is a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to the welfare of Singapore's many street dogs.

Our mission is to eliminate cruelty to and abandonment of animals, enhancing their welfare, and improving the lives of animals and humans, through rescue, education and advocacy.

SOSD relies on the generosity of the public to support its shelters at Sungei Tengah and Jurong Island.

You can make a difference. Your kind donation will help in providing shelter, food, medicine, veterinary care and love to the rescued dogs.

Donations received in GivingSG will be pooled with other donations and be used to provide food, medicine, veterinary care and support for the dogs under SOSD's care. Donations may also be used to pay for other operational costs of SOSD's shelters, such as utilities, water, rental and transport costs and costs and expenses of its TNRM programme. This is inclusive of donations raised in all of SOSD's campaigns.

Your donation details will be submitted to IRAS automatically by SOSD.
