Families are helpless as conflict escalates across Ukraine. The shrill sound of sirens linger in the air as families are forcibly separated and displaced. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, more than 500,000 people in Ukraine have fled the country since Thursday, into neighbouring countries.
It is heart-breaking that countless children will bear the brunt of this conflict, forced from their homes and schools as they flee in search of safety. Children are separated from their fathers as their fathers stay behind in Ukraine to fight for the country. Mothers who have been forced to flee their homes alone with their children without their husbands are afraid at the thought that they will probably have to care for their children alone, without their partners. Children are confused and in despair. Many are fearful and in tears.

About The Charity
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice.
World Vision Singapore is a branch of World Vision International, and is a registered charity with Commissioner of Charities in Singapore.
In planning, implementing and evaluating its work, World Vision staff considers the basic needs of the child and the dynamics of the particular child's community. Does the child have a healthy diet? Is he or she attending school? Does the child have access to adequate health care, clean water, housing and clothing? Do his or her parents have an opportunity to improve the family's condition by growing more food or starting a small business?
All projects are regularly measured against such goals and objectives. Audits are conducted regularly by field staff and occasionally by outside consultants to ensure that the project is on track and is meeting the specific goals established by community leaders and World Vision.
Our help is offered without any reference to the religious faith of those with whom we work. People from Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and animist communities all receive help from World Vision.
World Vision accounts for every dollar. Audits are conducted regularly by external firms to verify the accuracy of World Vision's financial reporting.
