Our Campaign Story

Look at their wedding photos in the background. They look so cheerful despite their hardship.

There are many elderly couples like that, whereby the patient is being taken care for by their elderly spouse. The caregivers have to bear a huge load on their shoulders, some taking care of the patient for most of their waking hours. They also require support and a friendly voice to check on them regularly.

Our homecare nurses take care of them if they require nursing care.

What happens if the caregiver falls ill? What happens if they need support? What happens if the elderly caregiver also becomes frail and needs assistance?

Please donate generously to help. Your donations will be used to fund this programme as well as other SATA CommHealth's programmes for the needy and seniors.

About Campaign

SATA CommHealth Homecare Services was launched in 2012 to meet the needs of homebound patients. It also helps reduce the re-admission possibility of these previously discharged patients while maximising their physical and physiological recovery.

During the circuit breaker period, some of the community services were halted due to COVID-19 situation. However, the Homecare team continued to support our beneficiaries with home medical; home nursing and home personal care, thereby keeping them safe at home. This ensures they get medical treatment promptly even when they are facing financial difficulties.

In 2020, we have conducted a total of 7,908 home nursing visits and 300 home medical visits benefitting more than 700 unique beneficiaries in the community. Since the launch of Home Personal Care in 2019, we have seen an increase of more than 300% in the number of services rendered in 2020.

Homecare Services are increasingly vital necessities that provide a respite for caregivers as well. It provides them with the pillar of support for them to lean on in trying times, to stay resilient and ensure a more sustainable manner of care for the needs of their ageing loved ones.

Your donations will be used to fund this programme as well as other programmes for the needy and seniors.

About The Charity

SATA CommHealth was established in 1947. As an IPC charity, we are Here To Care for the health of seniors and the vulnerable in the community. Our beneficiaries are served through community events, subsidised care at our medical centres as well as home and centre-based services which include homecare, doctors-on-wheels, day rehabilitation centres and Fernvale Community Hub. We were awarded the Charity Governance Award (Large Charities category) in 2018. For three consecutive years, we were also awarded the Charity Transparency Award by the Charity Council for its exemplary disclosure practices. We continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting MOH and community partners, in various areas such as providing vaccinations via our Mobile Vaccination Teams and Vaccination Centre, administering ART and PCR swabs and managing patients in our Public Health Preparedness Clinics.
