Our Campaign Story
ends 18 Oct 2021, 11:59 PMOver one third of the Afghan population has been infected by Covid-19. The country's already weak health system is collapsing under the sudden influx of cases and political turmoil. The country is in a state of crisis, facing a shortage of medical service provision and health equipment, including masks and oxygen tanks. In addition, many individuals have been internally displaced, leaving them especially vulnerable to the virus. Vaccines have also been banned in the state; Afghanistan has a Covid-19 vaccination rate of under 1%. It is clear that the people of Afghanistan need our help, now more than ever.
Singapore Red Cross Society is working closely with Afghan Red Crescent Society, a non-governmental humanitarian agency based in Afghanistan, to provide health equipment such as oxygen concentrators and surgical masks in support of the Afghan Red Crescent response to the health crisis. This campaign seeks to provide funding for Singapore Red Cross Society to provide better health support for vulnerable communities in Afghanistan.
The funds will go towards helping real people who desperately need our compassion. By donating, you could save lives. Every bit counts, no matter how little! :)

The Singapore Red Cross is raising funds for medical equipment, oxygen supplies, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to support communities in South East Asia and South Asia.
In view of the escalating COVID-19 cases over the last few months, the Singapore Red Cross has initiated a public appeal "COVID-19 International Response Fund" to raise funds to deliver assistance and support communities in South Asia and Southeast Asia, that are affected.
Countries in South Asia have seen daily cases jumping dramatically in recent weeks. The rise of the more transmissible Delta-variant is also another reason for the surge in COVID-19 infections across the countries.
As announced at SRC's media briefing on 6 July, The Singapore Red Cross has already delivered 634 Oxygen concentrators, 10 ventilators, 351,000 surgical masks, 13,000 reusable face masks, 1,000 PPE gowns, and 150,000 latex gloves, to Afghanistan, Bhutan, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Philippines and Sri Lanka.
SRC has also contributed S$125,000 for the purchase of medical supplies, and basic necessities for affected families in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
More details on the appeal are available on redcross.sg
