Our Campaign Story

ends 03 Sep 2022, 11:59 PM

We, Christie and Jimmy Tong, launch this campaign in memory of our son, Harry who left us unexpectedly at his tender age of four years on 6 July, 2022.

Harry was a member of the Haemophilia Society of Singapore (HSS). He brought so much joy to us and the people whom he had met. To quote Harry "I am so funny! I am so silly!", we sincerely wish that you can donate generously to HSS to save the lives of haemophiliacs.

About the Charity
HSS (https://haemophilia.org.sg) is a voluntary organization that was set up by a group of people with haemophilia, parents, health care providers and professionals. It is an approved institution of Public Character and an affiliated member of the National Council of Social Service and a member of the World Federation of Haemophilia. It is managed by a Committee, comprising only volunteers and no paid staff.

Haemophilia is a lifelong bleeding disorder that prevents blood from clotting properly. It is treated by replacing the missing clotting factor in the blood by infusing the needed factor into the vein.

Treatment is costly hence HSS assists with treatment subsidies to help alleviate the high costs. Over $265,000 was expended on treatment subsidies in the previous financial year.

Donations benefit the haemophilia members directly as more than 90% of funds raised are expended on treatment subsidies. Donations are tax-exempted.

May we seek your support to help raise the much needed funds during this challenging time. Thank you.
